For decades, it remained silent, hidden behind its wrought iron gate, in the heart of the prestigious Cours Grandval district. Château Conti, a jewel of Ajaccio's heritage, is now beginning a new life. And this rebirth is far more than just a real estate project: it is a cultural, familial, and regional adventure.
Built at the end of the 19th century, Château Conti is part of the neoclassical movement that marked Ajaccio's Belle Époque architecture. A prestigious residence facing the sea, it was successively a family home, a reception venue, and then a discreet witness to the passage of time. Its ancient stones, high-ceilinged salons, terraced gardens, and commanding position over the city give it a rare elegance — precious and untouched by time.
Château Conti is not merely a place being restored — it is a memory being awakened, a promise being fulfilled in Ajaccio.
The Partners
Long closed to the public, the estate is preparing to reopen its doors through an ambitious rehabilitation project. Led by families from Ajaccio with deep ties to the site, Château Conti is being transformed into a 4-star Urban Resort combining upscale accommodation, wellness facilities, dining, private events, and landscaped grounds.
The goal is clear: to restore Château Conti's tradition of hospitality, turning it into a charming haven open to the city, rooted in its heritage while meeting the contemporary expectations of both travelers and locals.
The estate will offer a collection of heritage suites in the main building, as well as a luxury tourist residence, a spa, a fitness club, a 25-meter swimming pool, event spaces, and several dining areas. Everything is designed with a focus on sustainable tourism, local integration, and the promotion of island craftsmanship.
At the heart of the project lies a conviction: history is not just a backdrop, but a living material to be passed on. That’s why the rehabilitation of the Château has been carried out with respect for its original architecture, in collaboration with Historic Monuments, and with attention to every detail — period ironwork, noble materials, the botanical ambiance of the park, and the integration of local food circuits in the restaurant offerings.
By welcoming life once again within its walls, Château Conti is not simply being reborn: it is establishing itself as a key player in the revitalization of Ajaccio’s city center. Open year-round, connected to institutions and tourism flows, it becomes a place of exchange, culture, and hospitality — true to the city’s history and way of life.
Opening scheduled: Late 2027
The reopening of Château Conti will be a major milestone for Ajaccio, breathing life back into a collective memory and offering both visitors and locals a new landmark — vibrant, welcoming, and elegant.
